Community feedback has informed our plans, which have now been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (reference: 25/02934/OUT)

Taylor Wimpey has been committed to working with the local community to make these plans the best they can be. We have engaged widely with local community groups, elected representatives and local residents to gather feedback and discuss the plans.

Using community and technical feedback, we have made changes to our plans. Much of this change relates to the northern half of the site, which is almost entirely publicly accessible green space. Engagement started early with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council officers. This early start led to fewer homes on the site, from 260 down to 245. This reduction allowed development to move south, and it increased the amount of publicly accessible green space in the north of the site ahead of public consultation.

After our discussions with local ecology groups (Widler Bramley and Natural Basingstoke) and councillors, Taylor Wimpey further adjusted this green space to divide it into three sections with different purposes. These spaces will be divided by lines of trees and vegetation.

The three sections will be a northern area predominantly for wildlife (1), a central area with walking routes (2), and a southern area with walking, allotments, a community orchard, and informal open space for recreation and play (3). This division of the space will reflect the different uses it can accommodate, including biodiversity improvements alongside recreation for both new and existing residents.

Another change is the position of the kickabout area, an informal space for play (4). This kickabout space has moved further south so that it is within an easy walk of all homes on the site (300 metres), and closer to existing residents too.
